Under the Hood: Multi-Currency Normalization Pipeline

In our system architecture, when Wise, Revolut, and Mercury sync, balances and transaction records are pulled at their raw, multi-currency levels. To make these mathematically useful in charts and runway calculations, the system processes them through a three-stage normalized ledger pipeline:

Stage 1: Raw Extraction

Transactions and balance snapshots are extracted from individual account webhooks/polls with their raw ISO codes (EUR, GBP, SGD, USD).

Stage 2: ECB Feed Alignment

The pipeline queries European Central Bank (ECB) hourly feeds to map the mid-market rate at the exact timestamp of each record.

Stage 3: Base Denomination

All records are written as a double-entry ledger in both local currency and normalized USD, ensuring instant, deterministic reporting with zero rounding errors.
